Here I've tried to answer some of the more common questions:
Q: How many counselling sessions will I need?
A: The number of counselling sessions will vary depending on the issue, how deep rooted it is and how readily the individual works with acknowledging the problem and taking the necessary action to do things differently.
Q: What happens if I don’t like it?
A: In the first instance talk with your counsellor about how you are feeling. It may be the way the counsellor is working which is not right for you and this will give you both the opportunity to change what doesn’t feel right for you.
If you still don’t feel comfortable or at ease find a counsellor who better suits your needs.
Q: Will my counsellor give advice?
A: Therapeutic counsellors do not usually give advice. They work with you to help you work out what is important and the best solution for you.
